What I did
(Side project) UX / UI designer

This was a fun side project for me to sharpen my visual and component skills as a digital product designer. Hence I worked on the component system, refined page IA, UX and worked closely with the WE3 team to get to the end-to-end experience of the crypto currency platform that we shipped.

Like existing credit protocols, Mars' "Red Bank" facilitates overcollateralized loans with a two-slope interest rate model (similar to Aave or Compound). In addition, Mars brings outstanding improvements in Contract-to-Contract (C2C) lending, allowing for smart contracts that are whitelisted to borrow assets from Mars liquidity pools collateralized by the whitelisted contracts' own assets rather than being collateralized by Red Bank deposits. These credit lines power Mars’ credit accounts ("Rovers"), giving end users access to leverage when interacting with other Mars-compatible DeFi protocols' smart contracts.

Our typography is geometric. We rely onJost as a display face that is both uniquein its simplicity and hints to a heritage ofhope for the modern world. Jost iscomplemented by Inter, a google font that was designed specifically forlegibility on the screen.

The Mars name, marks, dress, logos and brand, including the name “Mars”, were created through collaboration between Delphi Labs, Terraform Labs, and We3.

Color palette

Intentionally pastel, illustrates the warmth and possibility of Mars. When the colors are combined and overlaid, you get a dynamic spectrum that can be utilized in countless ways. These layered colors, much like the complexity of our logo mark, display the simple beauty of the individual hue and the harmonies that are built when we combine them.

Assessing accessibility

To ensure maximum accessibility, I ran the design through blindness accessibility checks to test the colors and hues. Due to the color palette we have chosen and the amount of highlight colors we have, the nuances are partly small but still strong enough to show the visual differences.
